Dexamenes is an architectural slice of Greek trading history, sitting quietly on one of the most unspoiled and beautiful stretches of coastline in the western Peloponnese. Inside an abandoned wine factory set directly on the sea, the property offers guests the singular hospitality experience of sleeping inside old wine tanks from the 1920s, which have now been minimally reanimated with steel, engineered glass, timber, and a clean-lined aesthetic, leaving the existing buildings relatively untouched and retaining their strong presence. Alongside the strong history and raw beauty of existing buildings, coupled with the contemporary architectural preferences, the new design complements their brutality with elegant interventions and transforms their austere functionality into a place of calm, comfort and relaxation.

Sharing a similar view, De Metry created a geometric art installation based on the Greek ideas of symmetry and asymmetry. His main artistic conceptualization was to transform this unorthodox contrast into an unprecedented, yet harmonious, piece of art that explores the dimensions of line and space in a pioneering way. Embodying the intrinsic principles of natural materials, geometry and simplicity, De Metry additionally designed a collaborative t-shirt that aligns with those aforementioned.

SS21 Dexamenes x Atelier De Metry™ limited edition off-white short sleeve t-shirt features a ribbed crew neck and a print at the chest tagged “UNSPOILED”. Made in Greece with a mid-weight organic fabric. Available at the recently launched hotel’s concept store from July 1, 2021.
